Howard Rapp and Arnold Graham – are
principals with Charles Rapp Enterprises, a New York based
entertainment planning organization which was founded in 1935
by Howard’s Uncle, Charlie Rapp, who soon became one
of the largest one-man “buyer and supplier” of
show business talent in America.
Charlie made his mark by developing new talent and booking
shows for more than 100 resort hotels which flourished during
the pre and post World War II years in the Catskill Mountains,
and was dubbed affectionately as “The Borscht Belt”.
Charlie Rapp is credited with helping to develop the careers
of Milton Berle, Jackie Mason, Jan Murray, Red Buttons, Diahann
Carroll, Neil Sedaka, Norm Crosby, Jack Carter, Sid Caesar,
Phil Foster and many others. Howard Rapp joined the company,
full-time, in 1969 after working every summer since his 13th
birthday. Arnold Graham joined the agency in 1970 after working
many years with his father, Sam, in the entertainment business.
After the death of Charlie Rapp in 1974, Howard and Arnold
took charge and together they have brought the company into
the modern era of show business, helping to develop the careers
of new talent such as Ray Romano, Robert Klein, David Brenner,
Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Reiser, Rodney Dangerfield, Gabe Kaplan,
Arsenio Hall, Jay Leno, Louise DuArt and many more. They are
also credited with bringing first time appearances in the
Catskill Mountains area for such stars as George Burns, Bob
Hope, Engelbert Humperdink, Nell Carter and Suzanne Somers.
Though many jugglers, comics, singers and novelty acts have
come and gone since the days of when “The King of the
Mountains”, Charlie Rapp, was responsible for the most
lavish shows in the Catskills, Charles Rapp Enterprises lives
on following the time-honored tradition of its founder.
Today with offices in New York, Florida and California, the
highly respected entertainment consultant, booking and management
firm has grown far beyond its humble beginnings and enters
The New Millennium as an international player in the multi-media
universe of show business. Howard and Arnold are both very
excited about their new show– My Mother’s Italian,
My Father’s Jewish & I’m In Therapy starring
Steve Solomon. Uncle Charlie and Sam would be proud.
